Border and Migrant Health Regional Meetings

Does your organization provide
services along the US-Mexico Border?
Is
your organization increasingly providing services to immigrant or migrant
populations?
If you answered yes to either question,
participation in the Supporting Networks of HIV Care by Enhancing Primary
Medical Care (SNHC by EPMC) Regional Meetings is an opportunity for you. Limited
scholarships are available to cover travel expenses.
The Regional Meetings will examine critical
factors that must be considered by organizations delivering or seeking to
deliver HIV primary medical care and treatment services along the
U.S.-Mexico border region or to migrant or immigrant
populations.
This 2-part
training series will be held in San
Antonio,
TX. Plan to attend
both sessions on the following dates:
April
28- 30, 2009 - Regional Meeting I
June
23-25, 2009 - Regional Meeting II
Plenary
sessions and concurrent workshops will be available for medical providers, case
managers, and clinic administrators. CMEs will be offered for select sessions,
and CEUs will be offered for attendance to each meeting.
Eligibility:
Organizations
must have at least a 2 year history of providing primary care.
Direct
grantees of HRSA/HAB for Ryan White Program funds are not eligible for services.
Primary
medical care sites serving racial/ethnic minorities with a high burden of
HIV disease should apply. These include, but are not limited to the following:
CHCs, FQHCs, ASOs, FBO, RHCs.

the SNHC by EPMC project
SNHC by EPMC
project is a national training, technical assistance and capacity building
project designed to develop, improve, and expand comprehensive HIV primary
medical care and treatment services to racial/ethnic minority communities
severely impacted by HIV/AIDS.
