Border and Migrant Health Regional Meetings Fast Approaching

Does your organization provide services along the US-Mexico Border?

Is your organization increasingly providing services to immigrant or migrant populations?

If you answered yes to either question, participation in the Supporting Networks of HIV Care by Enhancing Primary Medical Care (SNHC by EPMC) Regional Meetings is an opportunity for you. Limited scholarships are available to cover travel expenses.

The Regional Meetings will examine critical factors that must be considered by organizations delivering or seeking to deliver HIV primary medical care and treatment services along the U.S.-Mexico border region or to migrant or immigrant populations.

This 2-part training series will be held in San Antonio, TX.  Plan to attend both sessions on the following dates:
  • April 28- 30, 2009 - Regional Meeting I
  • June 23-25, 2009 - Regional Meeting II
Plenary sessions and concurrent workshops will be available for medical providers, case managers, and clinic administrators. CMEs will be offered for select sessions, and CEUs will be offered for attendance to each meeting.

Eligibility:
  • Organizations must have at least a 2 year history of providing primary care.
  • Direct grantees of HRSA/HAB for Ryan White Program funds are not eligible for services.
  • Primary medical care sites serving racial/ethnic minorities with a high burden of HIV disease should apply. These include, but are not limited to the following: CHCs, FQHCs, ASOs, FBO, RHCs.
