You are invited to participate in a special 2009 USCA Stakeholder Call, set for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 8, at 4:00 p.m. EST (1:00 p.m. PST). The call is being conducted by NMAC's Executive Director, Paul A. Kawata and will last approximately 1 hour. It is being held as a follow up to last month's survey, "The 2009 USCA - What's Your Take?", which over 1,200 people completed online.

During the call, Paul will be asking everyone if they have additional thoughts about what types of sessions they want to see at USCA, and what they think about the agency's response to participant feedback. We are particularly concerned about the impact of the current economic crisis on faith- and community-based organizations like yours nationwide. NMAC is doing everything it can to help you attend USCA and get the training and resources you need to survive these difficult financial times.

Based on the survey feedback - which you may read read online or download as a PDF - NMAC has revamped the 2009 USCA program to better serve your needs. This includes providing more advanced skills building workshops geared to HIV/AIDS professionals; sessions on how organizations can navigate fiscal challenges; and discussion groups on working with special populations, including Native Americans and rural areas. In addition to these workshops, we hope to include:
  • A job fair
  • Meetings with federal officials and major funders
  • Additional continuing education credit courses and offerings
We also are offering conference specials every month until June. Currently, we are offering a special hotel room rate of $152 per night (plus taxes) to the first 100 USCA registrants. That room rate, coupled with the early bird registration cost, adds up to big savings. The number of scholarships available has been increased, and we are introducing a full scholarship (Option C), which will include complimentary conference registration, 4 nights of hotel accommodations and airfare. In addition, will are distributing USCA correspondence primarily through e-mail, our website and our 2009 USCA and NMAC Facebook groups, as many of you have requested.

Again, we look forward to hearing your thoughts about USCA and our response to your feedback during tomorrow's USCA Stakeholder Conference Call. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at (202) 483-NMAC (6622) ext. 309 or communications@nmac.org.
