NMAPP White Paper
In July 2007, NMAC released a new report entitled, The Minority AIDS Initiative: Meeting the Challenges in Communities of Color Nationwide. This publication marked the first policy white paper produced through a collaborative effort by the National Minority HIV/AIDS Policy Partnership (NMAPP). Click here to view the press release.
The MAI aims to improve HIV/AIDS-related health outcomes and address social disparities for communities of color by addressing public health disparities, as well as building the capacity of racial and ethnic communities to manage, evaluate and sustain comprehensive HIV/AIDS programs. MAI programming is unique; it was the first initiative to bring together members of Congress and community leaders of different ethnic and racial backgrounds. Through this white paper, NMAPP addresses MAI legislative changes and parallels efforts that were executed at MAI inception.
The Minority AIDS Initiative: Meeting the Challenges in Communities of Color Nationwide offers a holistic overview of the MAI, concluding with specific recommendations intended to meet the needs of our communities.
