Public Policy
NMAC's Government Relations and Public Policy
Division (GRPP) heads the agency's advocacy efforts, promoting sound national healthcare policy with a distinct
focus on issues related to HIV/AIDS, access to care and social justice as they
impact communities of color. To achieve its goals, the Division relies on public
policy development and advocacy, grassroots education, and community
mobilization.
For more information, contact NMAC"s GRPP Division directly at (202) 234-5120 or GRPP@nmac.org.
National Minority AIDS Policy
Partnership
The National Minority
Policy Partnership (NMAPP) is a new initiative between NMAC and national social
justice organizations, representing communities of color, formed in order to
jointly develop and advance public policies that ensure high-quality, culturally
appropriate, and affordable HIV/AIDS services for people of color living with
HIV/AIDS or at high risk for HIV infection.
Grassroots Action
Network
The grassroots action network
recruits, educates, organizes and mobilizes minority community-based
organizations, minority-serving providers, people of color—advocates, and
persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS throughout the United States—to
promote legislative action and public policies which address the needs of
communities of color. NMAC In Action is our web-based grassroots
advocacy network. Through this electronic tool, we can communicate with our
constituents on critical HIV/AIDS issues and mobilize them to contact elected
officials and key appointed officials on the federal level, via
e-mail.
