AIDS.gov
Launched on World AIDS Day 2006, HHS' Internet portal provides users with easy access to information on Federal HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment, and research programs, policies, and resources.


AIDSinfo
AIDSinfo is a central resource for current information on federally and privately funded clinical trials for AIDS patients and others infected with HIV. As the main dissemination point for federally approved HIV treatment and prevention guidelines, AIDSinfo provides information about the current treatment regimens for HIV infection and AIDS-related illnesses, including the prevention of HIV transmission from occupational exposure and mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy.

Project Safe
Seeks to reduce the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among working women. Provides information and resources, and connects women to programs and services which are appropriate to their needs and interests.

 

Project Azuka, Inc.
Addressing women with HIV/AIDS and their families at the local community level. AZUKA is a Nigerian name for a girl child and the English translation is "Support is Paramount." The African name references the target population of the organization and our belief in supportive empowerment.

Sister Love, Inc.
SisterLove is a women's sexual and reproductive health and rights organization focusing on HIV/AIDS and its impact upon women of African descent living in the U.S. and around the world.

 

Babes Network
For HIV+ women, BABES is dedicated to building a community among women from all walks of life who are facing HIV and AIDS. BABES offers a women-centered environment and assures confidentiality.

 

International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)
Promoting social and economic development with women's full participation includes information on women and AIDS.

 

Positive Women
A registered charity which offers a range of peer support, advice, information and advocacy services for HIV positive women.

Ryan White CARE Act TARGET Center
This Web site provides an array of technical assistance (TA) to the Ryan White programs, which deliver HIV care to underserved individuals. It features a TA Library, a live Help Desk for calls and e-mail assistance.

Vaccine Research

Be The Generation: HIV Vaccine Research
Every generation has its great cause. Pick up the torch and join the campaign to end AIDS. This National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases' web site is at the forefront of the public awareness campaign, challenging young Americans to be the generation that ends AIDS through the discovery of a safe and effective preventive HIV vaccine.


Vaccine Awareness Day
May 18th is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD). This annual observance is a day to recognize and thank the thousands of volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists who are working together to find a safe and effective HIV vaccine. It is also a day to educate our communities about the importance of preventive HIV vaccine research.

National HIV Testing Resources
This Web site offers information related to HIV testing that includes a national database of HIV testing sites, resources for people who test positive for HIV, basic information about HIV and AIDS, behaviors that place a person at risk for HIV infection and what the testing experience is like.

National HIV Testing Day
The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) started National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) in 1995. Every year, on June 27th, local organizations across the nation engage with communities to promote early diagnosis and HIV-testing.
