On behalf of Paul Kawata:
As valued partners in our work to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, we want to let you know that Daniel Montoya has accepted a fantastic professional and personal opportunity that will take him to Miami, Florida. His last day at NMAC will be Friday, August 22. We will miss him.
Daniel’s contributions to NMAC’s work have been invaluable. Over the last four years his leadership resulted in significant improvements to the agency. It was his vision to change NMAC’s mission to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. He worked tirelessly to bring great talent to NMAC. He brought Moises Agosto back to restart NMAC’s efforts at HIV treatment, education, adherence and mobilization (TEAM) and Kyle Murphy to be NMAC’s Director of Outreach and Public Affairs. In addition, he worked with all the seasoned leaders at NMAC including Terrence Calhoun, Director of Conference and Meeting Services; Kim Johnson, MD, Director of Community Advancement and Leadership Strategies; Cindy Bodin, Director of Finance; and Kim Ferrell, Director of Facilities Management and Human Resources.
Daniel wants everyone to know “how much I valued and appreciated my time at NMAC. Working with Paul Kawata, the board, senior management and all of NMAC’s staff has been one of the highlights of my career. I leave having made stronger friendships and knowing that I’ve built a stronger agency that is ready and able to work to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”
NMAC is committed to a smooth transition and we’re taking steps to ensure there is no loss of momentum. We’ve added capacity immediately in our development department and we are reviewing how to best add to our senior management team. We are pleased to announce that Zach Baldwin (zbaldwin@nmac.org) will immediately join staff as the Director of Development for USCA. He is joined by Aminata Kamara, our new Development Associate. We look forward to seeing everyone at USCA. It will be a great meeting.
