Orgullosamente marica, I’m a journalist from México living in the US. After working in newspapers in both countries, I started connecting with activists and non-profit organizations in North Carolina, where I have lived since 2023. Living and working as a journalist has helped me identify some challenges for the local immigrant LGBTIAQ+ population. I believe in the power of the community to combat discrimination and overcome other obstacles against both freedom and a safe environment to grow. I like to go outdoors for hikes and other activities with my family (my husband and our cat and dog). I enjoy music, movies and pop culture through social media, where I spend a lot of free time. But also I like to spend some time with friends partying or at home playing video games and board games. I dream of having a big house with a farm where I will spend time taking care of animals and plants. I believe in a world where everyone would be free to just exist without oppression and violence.
