Terrell Winder is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research areas include race & ethnicity, sexuality, qualitative & quantitative research methods, and education. He is currently exploring the role that youth development organizations, informal kinship networks, and online new media play in the identity processes and social lives of black, gay, youth in Los Angeles. Additionally, Terrell has worked as a Youth Transitional Case Manager for HIV positive youth and serves as a commissioner for the Los Angeles County Commission on HIV. He hopes to learn about new HIV testing technologies and biomedical interventions at USCA in order to advocate for youth services across Los Angeles County.
