Jose is a bilingual abolitionist organizer and strategist living with HIV based out working from the Northwest to the Southeast USA. They were born on the road in a “rural” town without a hospital and they are the descendant of farmworkers from Michoacán, Mexico and Morazan, El Salvador. Since 2013, José has been working with Black, Latinx, and immigrant populations across the US & Mexico focusing on community mobilization, education, and healthcare programming. José graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. with honors in Cultural Anthropology and has worked with AIDS United, Gran Varones Media, Latino Commission on AIDS, National Minority AIDS Council, and Southerners on New Ground, among others.
