Kimi Farrington is a freshman at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. majoring in political science and economics. She is a member of the Young Women of Color Leadership Council and former member of the Broward County Youth Council. Kimi enjoys learning as she completed her freshman year of college while still in high school. As an advocate, Kimi wishes to be the change; she wants to see in the world. Kimi was a 2013 Horatio Alger Scholar and a 2013 George Snow Scholar. By attending the United States Conference on AIDS, Kimi hopes to become more knowledgeable on healthcare options for those living with HIV/AIDS. “One issue that affects my generation is the availability to access health and educational services are the mere fact of the government, not requiring youth to attain the education.” Kimi plans on educating, improving, and empowering the lives of those affected by the disease.
