Maiah Taylor is a New College of Florida graduate, having earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology. She is currently a graduate student at the University of South Florida- St. Petersburg studying psychology while also conducting research regarding mental toughness, personality, and benefit finding. Over the past 4 years Maiah has worked alongside HIV/AIDS Advocates, case managers, and community mobilizers at CARES Outreach and Services in Sarasota, Florida. She also works at the Safe Place and Rape Crisis center as a Child/Youth Advocate providing services in hopes of stopping domestic and sexual violence in our communities. In the future, she plans to focus her education and career path on critical incident response management, trauma reduction, and resilience.
At USCA I would like to contribute positive dialogue with others regarding how todays youth could best benefit from preventative programming.
