Tranisha Arzah- is a queer identified African American woman living with HIV. Tranisha was diagnosed in 1990 at birth. Currently, she works as a Non- Medical Case Manager for BABES-Network YWCA which is a Seattle-based peer leadership program for woman their families and heterosexual men affected by HIV through Ryan White Part D funding. She is also partnered with Lifelong AIDS Alliance for the Positive Organizing Project, supported by Gilead Sciences, is designed to revitalize grass-roots organizing movement among people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA). Tranisha attended her first USCA 2013 in New Orleans part of the Youth Initiative to End AIDS in America and is static to be joining forces again with her fellow youth in San Diego. Tranisha has succeeded a lot in her own community throughout the year and is eager to continue serving the needs for women and youth through peer support, advocacy, education and outreach.
At USCA, I will be bringing my experiences as a young woman living with HIV for 24 years and my determination to serve the under privileged populations in the HIV community to have their voices heard.
